Nagravision adds AI anti-piracy to Formula 1 broadcasts in Croatia and Slovenia
The rollout paired dynamic piracy monitoring with forensic watermarking and was completed with Ateme in a matter of weeks.
According to Broadband TV News, NAGRAVISION said RTL Croatia and PRO PLUS Slovenia have deployed its NAGRA Venturi platform to protect Formula 1 content for subscribers across the Adriatic region during the 2026 season. The company framed the move as a way to secure live sports streams while improving visibility into unauthorised redistribution.
According to Nagravision, Venturi combines dynamic piracy monitoring with network-level forensic watermarking. Through NEXUS, its anti-piracy centre, the platform turns multi-source piracy data into actions across measurement, monitoring, analytics and enforcement, while also adding device and platform security.
The project was delivered with ATEME and had minimal impact on existing workflows. Nagravision said the rollout was completed in a matter of weeks, and Šime Jurlina, chief technology officer at RTL Croatia, said it strengthened security across the region.
Daniel Cof, chief technology officer at PRO PLUS, said Formula 1 is one of the most valuable properties in the company’s portfolio, and that protecting how it reaches viewers is a business priority, not merely a technical one. He said the solution integrates into existing delivery workflows, giving teams much greater visibility into the sources of unauthorised redistribution and allowing them to act more quickly.
Morten Solbakken, NAGRAVISION’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, said premium live sports content remains highly valuable and that real-time protection is essential to preserving that value. The company also said Venturi is an intelligence-led streaming security solution for the AI era and is backed by more than 30 years of global piracy case history.
