Adobe brings free Premiere editor to Android
The mobile app offers watermark-free 4K exports and multi-track editing, while Firefly tools and cloud services remain paid extras.
Adobe has released a Premiere app for Android, offering free mobile video editing with multi-track projects and exports at up to 4K resolution. The app is available through the Google Play Store and does not add watermarks or forced advertisements to core edits.
The release arrives nearly a year after Premiere mobile launched on iPhone, according to Ghacks. Adobe positions the Android version for creators making TikToks, Instagram Reels, video-podcast clips and vlogs, and the app has recorded more than 50,000 downloads.
Users can edit, save projects locally and export video without an Adobe account or a Creative Cloud subscription. The application requires Android 13 or later and at least 5GB of RAM.
Its editing workflow uses a multi-track timeline, allowing footage, music, voiceovers, text and effects to be layered in one project. It also offers frame-accurate editing, creator-made templates and assets including transitions, effects and music from Adobe Stock, users’ own files or extracted audio.
Enhance Audio is included to reduce background noise and improve voice-recording clarity. Adobe also offers optional Firefly-powered tools: Generative Fill, Image-to-Video and Generate Sound Effects.
Those generative tools use Firefly credits, while cloud storage and additional generative capacity carry a cost. Free Adobe Stock music also requires sign-in, although the core editing functions remain available without one.
The new app replaces a much more limited Android presence for Premiere. Premiere Rush CC represented the brand on the Play Store from 2019 through 2025, and cost $9.99 a month or was included with Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite, which cost more than $50 a month.
Adobe plans to add Adobe Fonts, improved captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection and the ability to continue projects in desktop Premiere.
