Neume launches Remix to repair AI songs section by section

Neume launched Remix on Sept. 26, adding tools intended to alter a finished song without recreating the entire track. The feature works both on songs generated in Neume and on audio uploaded by users. Remix has two modes. Replace regenerates a selected portion in the same voice while leaving the rest of the recording unchanged. Reimagine retains a song’s words and melody but rebuilds its music in a style described by the user, such as turning a pop track into dubstep or a ballad into 1980s synthpop. The tool addresses a recurring limitation of AI music generation: a track may have a convincing hook, melody and vocal performance while containing a mispronounced name, slurred syllable or unclear line. Previously, correcting such a flaw meant generating a new song and risking the loss of the parts that worked. Users can select a time range as narrow as a line or as broad as a verse or chorus, then type replacement lyrics, regenerate the music for that section, or make repeated versions of the same passage. Neume says the system blends the new section into the original recording while leaving all other material intact. Section replacements can run for up to 90 seconds, although Neume recommends focused edits of about 30 seconds or less for the best results. The company says a user can begin with a song made from a prompt, choose one from their library, or upload an audio file. Users who upload music are responsible for holding the necessary rights, and Neume advises against deliberately copying a specific artist. BetaNews described Remix as one of Neume’s browser-based tools, reporting that lyric edits could be turned into regenerated tracks in under two minutes. That account focused on lyric replacement, saying the process preserved a track’s melody, structure, instrumental arrangement and timing. Neume generates vocals, lyrics and music from a single prompt, including prompts based on a described moment, a named recipient or lyrics supplied by a user. Its songs can be exported as 320 kbps MP3s, separated into vocal and instrumental stems, and used commercially by their creators. The service is available on the web, iOS and Android, and its remixer page also says an MCP server can make and remix songs through Claude or a user’s own AI agent. A first song is free without a credit card; paid plans begin at $3.99, while one-time credit top-ups start at $4.99.
