NewsGenie launches BalVoi, an automated newsroom built around AI editorial tools
The live showcase combines bias screening, jurisdiction-aware comment moderation and AI audio news in eight languages.
NewsGenie has introduced BalVoi, a digital newsroom whose workflow processes news, applies AI editorial transformations and publishes stories without routine human intervention. The company describes the system as a live, integrated demonstration of artificial intelligence across the creation, distribution and consumption of news, rather than as a replacement for traditional publishers.
The system is designed to operate continuously and is intended to let publishers, media organisations and technology partners see NewsGenie’s tools working together. In academic literature, automated journalism generally means stories generated by software or algorithms without human intervention beyond initial programming. Natural-language-generation systems have already been used for decades in areas such as sports, finance and weather.
A central element of BalVoi is DeBiasIt, NewsGenie’s patented bias-reduction tool. Every synthetically generated story on the site is processed through it, making bias reduction a built-in publication step. The company says DeBiasIt conducts sentence-level analysis to identify potentially biased wording and transform it while preserving factual meaning; its taxonomy covers nearly 70 linguistic, contextual and structural forms of bias.
BalVoi also embeds CivilyzeIt in its comment sections. The patented moderation technology analyses user comments for hate speech, harassment and other potentially harmful language, and can suggest alternative wording intended to retain legitimate viewpoints while encouraging more constructive discussion. Its policies can adapt to a reader’s geographic jurisdiction, an approach intended to help publishers address differing legal and regulatory requirements across international audiences.
CivilyzeIt became generally available in September 2025 as a moderation platform intended to reduce hate and harassment while preserving editorial control and cross-border compliance. Its product description says it identifies harmful speech in real time and adjusts enforcement to local legal standards and house rules. In U.S. markets operating under Section 230, suggested safer wording can be accepted with one click; in higher-risk UK and EU jurisdictions, users must accept the alternative or cancel.
BalVoi also includes BV:60, a continuously updated AI-generated audio news programme in eight languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish and Russian. The programme is available through BalVoi.com and podcast platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube. NewsGenie says the multilingual format enables publishers to repurpose existing editorial material without separate production teams for each language.
The launch comes as news organisations use AI amid ethical concerns about the technology. A Reuters Institute article cited a survey in which 49% of news organisations had begun using AI, while half still voiced ethical concerns. The institute noted that algorithmic bias can emerge in data collection, model design or deployment and can reproduce or amplify existing social inequalities.
NewsGenie, a U.S.-based media technology company, says its wider portfolio spans content acquisition, authentication, bias detection, audience moderation, regulatory compliance, content protection and monetisation. Its listed products include DeBiasIt, CivilyzeIt, MediaVetIt, RegCheckIt, NewsGenieIt, Coupra and CoupraMon.
