Nexpu launches DPU, an AI platform for customizable music
The new service lets users generate songs or instrumentals from descriptions or lyrics, while commercial use remains subject to licensing terms.
Nexpu Ltd. has launched DPU, a customizable AI music-creation platform developed through its subsidiary, Top Kingwin Technology INC. The service allows users to turn their own ideas, lyrics and preferred musical styles into songs or instrumental tracks, and is available with Chinese- and English-language interfaces.
The company announced the release on Oct. 23. DPU combines third-party AI technology with Nexpu’s proprietary AI models, including a DPU-related model, to provide music creation, listening and sharing functions.
Users can create music in two ways. In description mode, they enter a theme and musical style, with the option of generating an instrumental track. In lyrics mode, they provide lyrics, choose or customize a style, and enter a title for the song.
Generated tracks can be previewed before users edit titles and cover images, download selected works or publish them for other users to view. The platform also includes discovery tools based on styles and tags, personal libraries to manage works, and account and membership-management functions.
DPU uses a membership and usage-credit framework for tiered services. Features, access and usage allowances are subject to the applicable membership terms. Nexpu also said commercial use of generated or uploaded material remains governed by platform terms, third-party licences and applicable intellectual-property requirements.
In an April filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission, then-named Top Kingwin Ltd. said its software and platform-based solutions were still in early development and not operational, while its activities primarily involved distributing third-party robotic products. Nexpu, formerly Top KingWin Ltd., now describes its business as spanning data collection and analysis devices, robots, and software products and platforms.
Nexpu cautioned that DPU may not perform as intended or gain the expected user adoption or commercial success. Its functionality and performance may also depend on third-party AI technologies, services and infrastructure. Top Kingwin Technology intends to refine the platform through user feedback and further product development; any future enhancements and commercial expansion will depend on demand, technical performance and licensing requirements.
