Samsung Notes adds a fleeting AI label to Galaxy AI text results
The notice appears in the review screen for Note Assist output, including grammar corrections, but is not embedded in the accepted note.
Samsung Notes has begun displaying the message “This text was generated using AI” beneath results produced by its Galaxy AI writing tools. The label appears in the app’s preview pop-up, before a user chooses whether to copy the result or replace the original text.
The change arrived in Samsung Notes version 4.4.48.15, according to SamMobile. The publication reported that the message was absent before the update and has appeared after use of both spelling-and-grammar checking and Auto Format.
The wording applies to work that may not be newly written text. GSM Dome found that Note Assist can display the disclosure after formatting or punctuation and grammar changes, raising a distinction between text generated from scratch and text that has merely been processed by AI.
Note Assist is Samsung Notes’ Galaxy AI suite for automatically formatting notes, summarising content, correcting spelling and translating text. The app presents the output in a result window before it is accepted, allowing the disclosure to be shown during that review stage.
The label is temporary rather than a durable watermark. It disappears when a user copies the result, inserts it or uses it to replace the original text, and it is not embedded in the saved note itself. Samsung’s approach therefore signals AI involvement inside the app without adding a visible mark over the text a user keeps.
That differs from Samsung’s treatment of generative images. Images saved from Creative Studio and related tools, including the wallpaper generator, can carry a visible Galaxy AI watermark on the finished image.
SammyGuru reported that version 4.4.48.15 appeared to be rolling out gradually. Its changelog mentioned bug fixes but did not detail the issues addressed.
